WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - When college student Brownie Harris laid down on a street in Richmond, Virginia on the night of October 12, 1970, and took a picture of a police car with the word “oink” spray painted on its’ side, he had no idea it would be the genesis of his future career. He had taken his camera to an event featuring poet and novelist Allen Ginsberg happening on the campus of his school, Virginia Commonwealth University, where he planned to take a few pictures for the college yearbook. When police showed up to break up a street party after the Ginsberg event, students began rioting and Harris spotted the graffiti-laden police car….
