William P. Baldwin is a lifelong resident of the Carolina Low Country and an award-winning novelist, poet, biographer, and historian. A Clemson graduate with degrees in History and English, he’s worked as a shrimp boat captain and builder, but writing has been his true calling.
His acclaimed works include Mrs. Whaley and Her Charleston Garden, Heaven is a Beautiful Place (Silver Remy winner), and The Hard to Catch (Lillian Smith Award). His biography Journey of a Hope Merchant won the National Outdoor Book Award. Charles Town was praised by Charleston Magazine as “a tour de force.”
