In Grumbalina and Sensitive Stefan, readers return to the whimsical world of Grumbalina, a young fairy whose magic often goes sideways but whose heart is always in the right place. When her friend Mitchy heads to a party without her, Grumbalina is left wondering why she was not invited. Meanwhile, Perfect Polly is trying to help Sensitive Stefan stop crying with pages of spells that refuse to work. Soon the fairy house is filling with tears, and all three friends are overwhelmed.

Everything changes when Grumbalina realizes that the answer is not another spell but something far more powerful. By thinking about the things she is grateful for, she calms her own sadness and helps Stefan do the same. A honey bun made with love, a repaired cloud car, and the support of good friends lead the group to an unexpected celebration of their own.

This heartwarming story teaches children that feelings can be big, and sometimes hard to manage, but gratitude and kindness can turn even the saddest moments into something brighter. Filled with magic, friendship, and gentle emotional lessons, Grumbalina and Sensitive Stefan is a perfect read for young readers learning to navigate their own feelings.

Karina Frederiks is a farm-living, tea-drinking, story-telling word wizard. She grew up on her cloud in Caledon, Ontario, Canada, and was a curious child with an infinite imagination and love for literature. In elementary school, and all the way through university, Her favorite subjects stayed the same: English and naturally, creative writing. She spent her early years floating back and forth from the library, learning all about different fantasy worlds, and dreaming of creating her own someday. Grumbalina and many of her Pufftown pals, are based on Karina’s life-long friends, personal adventures, and experiences. She often draws inspiration from her childhood and years abroad when writing her stories. “Mitchy” and “Chatty Chad” are two fairies that she met while competing in horse shows on the other side of the sky - in Europe.
