Acclaimed photographer Brownie Harris unveils Brownie Harris Retrospective 1970–2020, a 50-year collection of iconic images releasing May 1, 2025. The retrospective spans five decades, featuring Harris’s portraits of cultural figures including John F. Kennedy Jr., Andy Warhol, and Carly Simon, alongside everyday subjects.
Harris reflects on his artistic philosophy: “Photography is about capturing the essence of a person. Whether it’s a world leader or a worker on an assembly line, my goal remains the same — to tell their story in an honest and meaningful way.”
The book includes personal reflections, behind-the-scenes narratives, and insights into Harris’s creative methods.
About Brownie Harris
After earning a BFA in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, Harris founded the photography department at WNET/Thirteen at age 23. His career includes work with major corporations (GE, IBM, NASA) and media companies (Paramount, Disney, Amazon Studios, Warner Bros.). He currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina.
